MATCH PREVIEW | Golcar United vs Albion Sports (H)

MATCH PREVIEW | Golcar United vs Albion Sports (H)

Jack Howarth30 Mar - 17:00

The final home game of the season awaits!

After being postponed twice already, both Golcar and Albion Sports will be hoping it will be a case of third time lucky.

I know I sure am, this will be the third time I've written this preview!

Since the postponement last Tuesday, both sides have been in action. It was a 4-0 win for The Weavers against Parkgate with goals coming from Ashley Flynn, Rhomani Murray and a George Doyle brace.

Unfortunately, for the visitors they came out as 2-0 losers in their away fixture against Horbury Town. Before that, Albion had won their previous two games against Rossington and Parkgate.

Despite their good form, the visitors are still only two points clear of the drop. With only two games remaining, both against Golcar, The Lions have a lot of work to do.

They are no stranger to a game that is filled with goals, with a total of 157 in their league games so far. Nathan Cartman has been a massive contributor to that feat scoring 26 in the league, with 12 of those coming in away games. He has also bagged 32 in all competitions.

The striker is only one goal behind Souleymane Coulibaly in the golden boot race. Our very own Flynn is on 29 goals in all competitions, meaning he is currently four behind top spot.

A win tomorrow evening can see The Village leapfrog both Knaresborough and Parkgate and find themselves into the top half of the league, showing how strong of a end to the season we have had.

It would be great to see as many of you at the Skye Direct Stadium tomorrow night in our final home game of the campaign.

It has been a solid season at home, winning 9 of our 18 matches so far, so come on down and cheer the boys on to help end the season on a high.

Up The Village!
