Weavers face play-off pushing Swans

With Tuesday's vital tie against Rossington Main delayed as The Skye Direct pitch fell victim to the weather, The Weavers are back in action this weekend against an in-form Barton Town.

Amidst our ongoing relegation battle, every single 90 minutes holds huge significance, especially at home.

Sixteen of our 24 points this season have been won at The Skye Direct Stadium, accounting for four of our five wins.

Key in these victories has been top-scorer George Doyle, responsible for approximately 40% of the home goals this season, and having produced a typical striker's goal last time out, there should be confidence in more coming soon.

For Barton Town, a strong start to the season saw them unbeaten in nine and looking at the automatic promotion spots.

Since then dips in form at the start of September and through October dropped them down the table but in recent games The Swans have re-found that edge that was present in the opening weeks.

They have now lost just one of their last eight — that defeat coming against runaway league leaders Liversedge — scoring 21 goals in that period

A huge factor in this abundance of goals has been Lewis Stephens and Thomas Waudby.

Stephens joined The Swans at the beginning of the campaign from Ossett United, for whom he played for through his junior career, and is Barton's top-scorer this season with 12 in his 24 appearances.

Waudby is a quick winger who has a deep history with the club first joining in 2016 from Bridlington, this season he has enjoyed another stellar campaign with 11 goals in 24 appearances.

Keeping these two at bay will no doubt be key for a Golcar victory tomorrow afternoon.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible!
