MATCH PREVIEW | Golcar United vs Bottesford Town (H)

MATCH PREVIEW | Golcar United vs Bottesford Town (H)

Jack Howarth13 Feb - 18:30

The Weavers look to make it three wins on the spin!

After Tuesday night's stellar performance against Eccleshill United, Golcar turn their attention to Bottesford Town.

Courtesy of goals from Ashley Flynn, Kallum Reid, Oliver Russon and Alfie Wilkinson, we managed to brush past the Eagles in a convincing win back on home turf.

Coming into tomorrow's game on the back of two league wins, The Village have the chance to make it three in a row for the second time this season.

On the other hand, The Poachers come into the game in a poor run of form, having only won once in their last eight games. The visitors managed to put an end to their seven game winless run at the weekend in a 6-3 win against Parkgate.

Despite their negative results, Bottesford are still bagging lots of goals, having scored 12 in their last three games.

Striker Jack McMenemy has scored in each of those games adding to his total of 21 for the season. The side have played the most league games so far this season, with McMenemy featuring in all 31 matches.

The visitors find themselves in 12th position and just three points ahead of ourselves, posing a great opportunity for us to climb the league table and steer even further clear of the drop.

Okera Simmonds has played a big role in the sides success this season, scoring nine goals in only 17 games. The forward scored a 95th minute equaliser in our 2-2 draw back in November.

The Weavers will be hoping to avoid such late heartbreak again and instead carrying on our good form.

We hope to see you all down at the Skye Direct Stadium tomorrow on Valentines Day to give Joe Skarz and the lads some love to get them over the line.

Hopefully all three points will be a good enough gift you, Weavers.

Please be advised that there will be a pitch inspection in the morning.

Up The Village!
