76 days after Crystal Palace won at Wembley, this season's FA Cup will get underway this weekend with 446 from Step 5 and Step 6 from the Non-League pyramid entering in the Extra Preliminary Round.

North West Counties League Premier Division side Ramsbottom United visit the Skye Direct Stadium with £1,125 at stake for the winning club.

Golcar began their season last weekend with a 2-1 defeat at home to Campion in the Northern Counties East League. A late winner from the visitors cancelled out a penalty equaliser from captain Ryan Wadsworth who scored the first goal of the campaign for the Weavers.

Ramsbottom have started off their league brightly with two wins from two. Both 2-1 victories against Atherton Laburnam Rovers and Cheadle Town respectively.

The furthest Golcar have ever reached in the famous competition is the Preliminary Round which was last season as they lost at home to Thackley 1-0.

This is only the Weavers' 4th season in the FA Cup with their first entry back in the 2022/23 campaign where they lost 3-0 away to Stockbridge Park Steels and then in 2023/24 where Trafford won in a replay 1-0 in Greater Manchester.

The winner of this tie will be away to Silsden or Handsworth in the Preliminary Round which will take place on the 16th August.
