The penultimate game of the season brought about the final home fixture.
Following a series of postponements, this is the first time the Weavers faced Albion Sports this season and we'll play them again on the weekend.
The visitors arrived at the Skye Direct in need of points, just two from the drop zone, and would be well up for it.
Golcar have been enjoying some well-reported strong home form at the minute and confirmed Premier Division football next season at the weekend, with a 4-0 win against Parkgate.
That confidence and freedom showed early, Oliver Russon opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a nonchalant, low finish across the goalkeeper, to send another strong Golcar crowd into celebration.
Albion looked to get right back into the game when a ball through the middle nearly caught the Golcar backline out but Kiero Lawrence, who has enjoyed another excellent season, slid in to cut out a one-on-one.
With half an hour gone, recent acquisition Rhomani Murray, who got his first goal on Saturday, used his pace and trickery to drive into the box before being taken down from behind giving the Weavers a chance to double the lead.
George Doyle has scored in six of his last eight games and the striker made no mistake in bagging another from the spot, making it 25 goals for the season!
The first half was nearly topped off when Oliver Russon struck goal-ward but an Albion defender made an incredible block.
A deserved two goals up at the break to show for a solid performance.
It seemed to be getting even better at the start of the second half when Jackson Durham thought he had scored his first of the season knocking into the far post on the volley.
Cruelly the linesman raised his flag against the defender who trudged back to the halfway line.
The second half wasn't as action-packed as the first, leading to Joe Skarz making a double change after an hour, with Jerome Bedeau and Rico Kilbourn entering the fray.
And it was a masterstroke from Skarzy, straight away the two combined with Bedeau releasing Kilbourn, who crossed for Murray to supply a brilliantly improvised finish into the top corner at the near post.
This one wasn't flagged offside and the Weavers had a three-goal lead!
That was all for the scoring, despite late chances for Murray and Russon, as Golcar signed off from the Skye Direct this season with a win!
Thank you for your tremendous support throughout the campaign — through all the highs and lows — and we look forward to seeing you all again next season.
Up The Village!
