The Weavers came into last nights game on the back of their first win of the season, making it four points from their last two games.
It certainly looked like things were looking up for Joe Skarzs' team in September.
However, all the hard work that's been put into the last couple games came undone in Keighley.
Eccleshill United, who have recently moved grounds to Cougar Park, have also experienced a tough start to the campaign and with three losses on the bounce the game looked to be in the balance.
The game itself started very much in the favour of Golcar, who dominated the majority of the first half.
Despite the adverse weather conditions and having a make shift centre-half, in Max Leonard who didn't look out of place, the Weavers still looked nailed on to be leading at half time.
Rico Kilbourn flourished in the first half, latching onto balls in behind the home sides defence with his rapid speed giving him a massive advantage in the wet conditions. The winger showcased some great skills and managed to create some key chances but none were turned home.
The best opportunity of the half came to Jerome Bedeau, who has been in good form of late. The young winger met one of the many crosses Rico put in at the back post and blazed his effort over the empty net.
It was was definitely a cliche 'tale of two halves' game at Cougar Park, as the Eagles went on to dominate the second half.
Only 12 minutes after the break Joshua McKiernon nodded home from a corner, securing his first goal of the season and putting the home side 1-0 up.
It was Eccleshill who looked most likely to find a second, with a massive opportunity falling to Zackary Sangster. He cut inside from the left and his curling effort hit both the crossbar and the post before a green shirt got the ball cleared.
Golcar made four changes throughout the half hoping to change the result but nothing really fell our way.
At the very death however it looked like the equaliser was about to come as Kallum Reid played a pin point pass over the defence but Max Leonard just could not get a touch on the ball.
The game ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat, leaving us in the relegation zone and two points from safety.
It's still only early days and with the fixtures coming thick and fast, there are points to be picked up.
The Weavers are back in action on Saturday against Frickley Athletic away from home. Make sure to get down and give Joe and the lads our support once again.
