PLAYER UPDATE: Exciting trio signs!

Dale Marsden27 Jun - 06:00

Joe Skarz adds to his young, energetic squad with a triple signing!

Overall, I'm delighted with the signings we've made so far
- Joe Skarz

Golcar United would like to extend a warm welcome to three new signings; Kymarley Vincent (right), Zach Rushworth (left) and Cale Gomersall (middle).

Kymarley Vincent is a 21 year old midfielder and joins the Weavers having previously played for Steeton, Glasshoughton Welfare, Route One Rovers and Armthorpe Welfare.

Joe Skarz on Kymarley:

"Kymarley has been with us since the start of pre-season, and I've been so impressed with his attitude first and foremost; he's such a humble young man. He's a tenacious midfielder who will give us real quality on the ball. Kymarley is a local lad who deserves an opportunity to show he's more than capable of playing at this level, and at 21 years old, again I feel we can develop and improve further".

Zach Rushworth is a 17 year old attacker, who has previously been at the Leeds United and Hull City academies. Zach chose to sign for Golcar United "because of the excitement around the new era, the chance to work with Joe Skarz and I'm excited to showcase my stuff and make a name for myself.

I can't wait to get going. Up the Village!" he adds.

Joe Skarz on Zach:

"Zach is a proper football player; he's very clever and very technical. He can play as a striker, out wide or as a 'Number 10' depending on the system we play. Zach is currently with Guiseley AFC so we thank them for assisting with this move. But we're excited to have another young promising player who has loads of potential at the club. His attitude and work-rate has stood out to me too, and he's absolutely convinced me we'll be able to rely on him to 'dig in' when the winter nights set in!"

Finally, Cale Gomersall, a 17 year old left back who was previously at Farsley Celtic. Cale states his best attributes are "Passing and creating chances" and believes he will fit right into Joe and Frankie's attacking footballing team.

Joe Skarz on Cale Gomersall:

"Cale attended the trial match we hosted after being recommended by Kyle Trennery, a player who knows football at this level very well. Cale really impressed me on the day and even more so in training since. Despite being 18, he's 6ft and is a real presence at left back.

He's technically very good on the ball and can run all day, which he showed in the football fitness drills we've been doing since the start of pre-season.

Cale played for Steeton at Step 6 last season, and again, deserves an opportunity to prove he's more than good enough to play at this level. At 18 though, he's still got lots of potential to learn and develop- which Frankie and I believe we can do again".

Joe continues:

Overall, I'm delighted with the signings we've made so far. All young, fit and hungry players who are willing to listen, learn and improve. Add to the core we have in Adam Field, Daniel Naidole, Kiero Lawrence and Ryan Hall, I'm really happy with where we are at currently with the squad.

There's still areas we need to add to, and this is ongoing, but it's important that whoever we bring in not only fits into the style of play Frankie and Myself want the team to showcase but have the right attitudes too."

All 3 players will be available to sponsor- news on player sponsorships will be out soon. Keep an eye on the club website and social media channels.

Up the Village!
