The soon-to-be 18 year old joins having spent last season at Thackley AFC. At 16 years old, he was playing for Farsley Celtic U19s and broke into their first team before being loaned out to fellow NCEL Premier Division side, Thackley AFC where he made over 15 appearances last season.

We spoke to Joe Skarz on his first new signing:

"I was already aware of Will's quality having seen him play numerous times but wasn't aware of his availability. Once I did become aware, I was eager to get him on board as soon as possible because of what he will bring to our style.

I love that he's left footed (being left footed myself!), I like his size and frame but he is also very mobile. He's also determined to develop too, which I know I can help with. He's now an asset for the club and he's exactly the type of player I want to bring in and help make them better than we already know they are. For Will, playing in the National League North at 17 years old is no mean feat. I'm delighted he's on board".

We also managed to catch up with new signing, Will Morrisey:

Good afternoon, Will, and welcome to Golcar United. Can you tell us a bit about your career so far?

At 16 I was signed for Farsley Celtic U19s and broke into their first team where I was playing in the National League North and towards the start of the next season I was loaned to Thackley, where I played about 15 times. I was then picked up by Bradford City in November and was with them until the end of the season before I headed back to Thackley to play in the Play Offs.

What position do you play, and what qualities will you bring to the team?

I'm a Central Midfielder, and I'll bring a lot of energy to the team. I love winning the ball back, winning the second-balls and definitely being on the front foot.

What are you most looking forward to working under Joe and Frankie?

Having spoken to the manager previously and then meeting and the Chairman today, I'm really impressed by the ambitions of the club. Joe's ideas of playing fast energetic football are what I'm about, so I am absolutely looking forward to getting going and seeing where we go!

What swayed your decision to sign for Golcar United?

I'm a local lad, from Marsden, and everyone in the local footballing world knows Golcar United are a growing and ambitious club and I was really keen to part of it!

Any final words for the Golcar United fans?

I'm really looking forward to playing in front of the vocal Golcar United fans and can't wait to get going!
